‘Faith to Swim’:

Swimming is a freedom that brings us the joy of depending on our ability to stay afloat, but also the faith that water can hold us.

Ezekiel in Ezekiel 47 has a remarkable experience that teaches us about levels of faith that move us from shallow into deep water where swimming in God’s Spirit is empowered by our trusting God who has taught us, ‘line upon line; precept upon precept’.

Notice how Ezekial moves from ankle-deep faith to total immersion in God’s Spirit.

Martin Luther gives us a beautiful glimpse of what growing into swimming-faith is.

BUT……

There is an abundance that comes from deepening our faith through relationship with Jesus that is echoed later in Ezekial 47, but also points us to Revelation 22. God doesn’t want us to have faith for faith sake. Faith produces an abundance of God’s Spirit that brings a ton of blessing.

God wants us to swim in the abundance of His Love, Will to prosper us, Desire to heal us, and most all dependence on Him so that He can enable us to do mighty things for Him by serving Him.
