‘Facing IT’:

I can’t help but wonder about the implications of the mention of ‘face’ twice in Genesis 1 vs 2.

Relating that to computer lingo- back end and front end, why does Genesis 1 vs 2 mention face twice?

Does it mean there is a deep philosophical lesson to be gotten out of God facing creation as creation faces God?

Does it imply that from the onset of understanding life God is telling us that it can ONLY be understood by facing Him?

It would seem to reason as such.
WHY?
Phillipians 3 vs 13:
‘Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.’

Lamentations 3 vs 22-23:
‘The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.’

Hebrews 8 vs 12
“For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”

In life, many of us who fell into the trap of playing ‘ostrich in the sand’ have come to know that the ONLY way through something is facing it head on. Likewise, Genesis 1 vs 2 has a profound life lesson in that God stares creation in the face, not coming in secretively from some obscure backend, but transparent, honest, and available. In reciprocal action creation looks up towards God- ‘God hovers OVER.’

Right from the onset of God’s Holy Word this ‘facing it’ begs us to get REALLY honest about the origins of life.

Can you honestly deny that there are aspects to life that naturalism (science of the physical) cannot explain?

I can’t.

I was born with a prophetic gifting. It’s not such a wonderful thing. Don’t get me wrong, it is AMAZING, but it is also a pain because talking about it always gets some weird responses:

1) The mocking denialist

2) The freaky, over-zealous, superstition-based para-normalist

3) The insecure futurist

4) The Christian self-righteous fundamentalist

5) The fact-checker

6) The competitive Christian- why him?

The terrifying part of having a gift that cannot be explained by natural sciences is the fear of getting the messages and visions God shows me wrong. I pray with all my heart to never be one that God counts as ‘inventing prophecies’.

The point being that part of my life’s existence exists outside of natural law yet perfectly explained by the supernatural.

So too, can emotions, consequences, sexual attraction, and consciousness/ conscience be explain by natural law as they are not tangible things. Yes, we can measure their effects but we can only assume that what we are measuring is because we say we are measuring non-tangible things.

So too, placebo affect. Scientists are stumped by the phenomenon of placebo affect, yet it is measurable through control groups.

THE POINT being that naturalism is limited, so to disregard Creationsim is like denying your emotions on the basis that only physicality is truth.

‘Enduring Word’, offers a great insight into facing it in a prolific statement about Creationism.

IF, we start from a place of acknowledging that who I think I am is largely based on the data stored in my mind which is developed from the social environment, parenting, schooling, experiences, and perspectives of those experiences then we can begin Genesis with the possibility of ourselves having a bias that COULD be misinformed.

Allowing ourselves the privilege of accepting that we don’t know everything, we can, as creation does, is look up from our voidness into God hovering, and allow God to take us on the adventure of discovering ourselves through Him.

Are you ready to face it, because God always has?

AMEN
