God woke me up at 01:58am to sit in the cold, hard, but CRITICALLY necessary truth to understand- God has wrath.
Although the blah-blah-blah of the rah-rah-rah folklore version of who God is looooves to say, “God is love,” that says more about their delusions and imagined realities. As unpopular as it is, even more uncomfortable, THE TRUTH is GOD ALSO HAS WRATH. And rightly so.

Guzik, ‘Enduring Word’ explains why accepting and respecting that God has wrath and the only way to avoid it is by listening to the wrath bearer- GOD- on how to avoid it.
LOGICALLY, speaking, if our thoughts on who God is and His Wrath could prevent us from God’s Wrath then we become God.
WHY?
GOD IS MAXIMALLY ULTIMATE SOVEREIGN.
Nothing can be more than God.
If something is more than God then that thing is God.
God can ONLY BE maximally ultimate.
WHY DOES THIS MATTER?
If God is maximally ultimate sovereign then ONLY GOD knows how to help us avoid His Wrath that He has defined for Himself, and warned us exists. We have many Old Testament examples of what happened to people who ignored God’s warnings of wrath.
Some teach that God’s Wrath is God’s removal of His protective hand from people and allowing them to experience life outside the existence of goodness as they so choose by ignoring God. Whether that is theologically factually true or not, the point is that GOD HAS WRATH stored up. As Guzik states, “The wrath cannot be stood against.”

Joseph Scheumann writes for ‘Desiring God’ stating, “God’s wrath is his love in action against sin.” We see that God’s Wrath is a protective justice for what is good. Jesus tells us, Mark 10:18, “there is none good but one, that is, God.” Our sin that deserves God’s Wrath can then be understood as a direct violation against God and God just in choosing to protect Good against evil. Scheumann further expands, “God is love, and God does all things for his glory (1 John 4:8; Romans 11:36). He loves his glory above all (and that is a good thing!). Therefore, God rules the world in such a way that brings himself maximum glory. This means that God must act justly and judge sin (i.e. respond with wrath), otherwise God would not be God. God’s love for his glory motivates his wrath against sin.”
We can conclude that God’s Wrath protects God’s Love. Romans 8:28 alludes to this, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
GOD PROTECTS THOSE WHO LOVE HIM AND HIS PURPOSE.
However, His Wrath is set against those who choose to ignore Him and disobey Him.
Jesus tells us this, Matthew 10: 33-34, “But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.
Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.”

Guzik expands on John the Baptist’s plea to “flee” on how to avoid God’s Wrath by responding swiftly, deliberately and directly to THE ONE that saves us- Jesus.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE HEART AND WISDOM OF GOD in that the ONLY WAY to avoid His Wrath is through Himself protecting us from it.
This is a logically sound argument.
WHY?
Well, if God is maximally ultimate and sovereign it stands to reason that the ONLY ONE who can protect us from Himself is Himself. Right?
And this is perhaps THEE GREATEST LOVE STORY ever.
WHY?
God knows that evil cannot coexist with Himself. God is Sovereign and Good and will not lower Himself to less than Himself. God cannot. God, because He is God can only be Maximally Ultimate.
So, to give us a chance to run into His Protection He gives us time (but it is limited as Judgement Day is coming), shows mercy by storing His Wrath to use when appropriate (He decides when it is appropriate to use, not us), has given us the Holy Bible to warn us and teach us, AND gave us Jesus to help us become His sons and daughters.

GOD HAS, LITERALLY, DONE everything possible to open the door for us to run into His Protection.
As daunting as it is to swallow the bitter pill of truth that God has Wrath, I’d rather swallow hard, and sprint into God’s Arms begging for forgiveness so that His Love protects and guides me to obey Him.
All else, is mere wishful thinking if we think we can avoid God’s Coming Wrath.
Having a healthy fear and respectful awareness that we cannot escape God should humble us as we pray, “Father, please help me be saved by You from Your Wrath as You teach me how You want to be loved because You are God. In Jesus Name. AMEN.”
