‘Foolish Fools Fooled Foolishly’:

It is that time. Again. My quarterly medical checkup. The final one of the year. Hallelujah. I truly do hate being prodded, pricked, and perused. This has been part of my life since November 2007. Since someone lied to me about their HIV status, and cared not much by sharing, 😂😂😂. 4 times a year, prodded, pricked, and perused.

Oh well, c’est la vie.

Truthfully, I am grateful as it forced me to get honest about myself, healing, and not to be selective about who I spend time with. Afterall, 1 Corinthians 15 vs 33, “Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Settling into the queue, I get into God’s Holy Word. Without fail, The Holy Spirit, pulls me into our Father’s Holy Presence.

Illness, doesn’t discriminate. I watch the variety of peoples sniffing, hissing, and shuffling, aware that there is deflationary humbler common to all humans- illness can hit anytime and anywhere.

As we recently came to experience, even globally all at once.

There is another disease common to mankind- sin.
We are ALL infected. And affected by it.

Paul, Romans 1 vs 22-25, puts it so scathingly well that I am no match for his brilliance.

We, in our delusions of grandeur, betrayed by our internalised control-freak god-complex, we have imaginatively invented all sorts to hide behind to keep our dopamine levels fooling us to continue to believe we are righteous in our self.
You know, “I think therefore I am,” existentialist victim-mentality paraded as thought-police.

THE TRUTH is, just because we think, does not mean we think rightly, and imagination, though wonderful, doesn’t define reality. God has laid out reality and our choices, though begin in our mind, at best align ourselves to what God has pre-ordained as possible for us. However, choice come with consequences, which is why 1 Corinthians 10 vs 23, ““I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.”

But, as I read Romans 1 vs 22-25, Paul is driven into my consciousness by God’s Spirit of Truth.
Paul poses, “Why do you and I need to invent something to believe in for us to believe in anything?”

It is our sub-conscious bias that faultily needs to keep us alive- therefore needs control- that hypnotises us into the placebo effect of thinking we indeed have such control.

We believe the lie, then create and lie into something to believe in, ending up with us as liars lying to ourselves and living the lie, lying that the lie is working.

In other words, ‘Foolish Fools Fooled Foolishly’. Fooled by a feeling produced in our mind based on an idea. A puff of nothing made a “something”.

So what lie are you worshipping to keep yourself lying about it?

  • Sex addiction- penis size, butts, boobs, orgies, porn, promiscuity, abortion approval to avoid sexual responsibility
  • Muscle worship- steroids and growth hormone, six pack insta pics, dietary obsession, pec-flex, gym gear labels, gym profile status,
  • Money- salary status, materialism obsession, investment elitism, medical aid elitism, company of employment, number of businesses on the board of or owned, devaluing humans for bottom line profits
  • Politik- historical suffering supremacy, ethnic supremacist delusion, ideological idealism, personal responsibility avoidance by blame-shifting, corruption and bribery, power-lust
  • Identity- “race”, orientation, beauty, body, pronouns, gender, characterisations, species, social standing
  • Beliefs- invented religion, philosophy, culture, trending hot topic, inhaled expand perspectives thereof, adaptations to accommodate sin bias, veganism

Paul is calling us to examine ‘the made’ by us and to get honest about our control-freak using the made to avoid the GOD-GIVEN that God gives us to do as He teaches us to be.

GOD DEFINES REALITY, WE WILL ENCOUNTER THAT, EITHER WAY WHEN JESUS RETURNS, AND EITHER OUR IMAGINED-REALITY WILL BE RUDELY AWOKEN, OR WE WILL BE CELEBRATING BECAUSE WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN ALIGNING OURSELVES TO WHAT GOD CALLS CONSTRUCTIVE AND BENEFICIAL.

Dr. Anne Lembke, ‘Dopamine Nation’ has an evaluation methodology that I have adapted to convey the Christian worldview which is useful in helping us examine our imagined-reality and to bring us into alignment of GOD’S RIGHTEOUS AND HOLY REALITY.

D- Data, collect information about ourselves, thoughts, and actions

O- Objectives, define the imagined benefits of our beliefs, and actions

P- Problems, evaluate the problems caused by our actions, and beliefs

A- Abstinence, set out plans to remove ourselves from actions and beliefs that are not God’s Way

M- Mindfulness, go through the psychological/emotional resistance in our neuro-programming as we unlearn worldliness

I- Insight, notice the gradual changes in our self-view, worldview, with gratitude and praise directed towards God

N- Next Steps, have an action plan to grow in our relationship with God and His Word

E- Experiment, here we practice our faith by allowing God to unfold His Heart in us so that He can move us into a destiny of works to achieve for Him.

We will fail in this sometimes, but as we abide in God, we will grow into His Wisdom and get better at faith. God gives us mercy and grace so that we can avoid the prison of perfectionism- an imagined-reality- which gives us space to give things a go knowing that Jesus has created THE WAY that The Holy Spirit will guide us along.

I love Paul, and cannot wait to meet him when Jesus Returns, though I am a bit terrified of him as he is absolutely brutally honest.

Have a blessed Tuesday.
JESUS LOVES YOU.
