It strikes me in Romans 2 vs 4-8 that God has laid out a very simple choice- for Him or against Him.
It speaks volumes about the level that we the created object can operate at. We ONLY have 1 of 2 options.
Unlike, the false notion of philosophical religious pluralism which attempts to make faith a grocery store isle where we can pick and choose, THEE ONLY LIVING GOD, is exclusivist in that there is no other god.
Philosophically, people have invented gods to further their power-lust, dictatorial, and oppressive rulership through superstitious-driven fear. When we examine the “gods” of other religions, we see the human psychology- gods made to be like us so that we can feel good about our internalized god-complex. We try control the narrative.
But………
Until, we have experienced THEE ONLY LIVING GOD, world religions are nothing more that philosophical pontifications of imaginations. However, with a dark twist…… satan has worked very hard to inspire us to manifest his agenda of distraction from the truth by inventing misbeliefs that disguise his sole goal ‘to steal, kill, and destroy’.
In other words, he has created delusions that feed our dopamine which fool us into feeling good about glittered rainbows skipping into the jaws of hell.
Romans 2 vs 8 is particularly interesting, “… but for those who are self-seeking….”
Think about it like this…..
Self always seeks a kingdom where itself is the master. If self cannot bend the world to worship itself, then self creates an imaginary world to validate its ego.
This is where we go so wrong.
There are ONLY TWO Kingdoms- God’s Kingdom which has already destroyed the puny kingdom of darkness.
We don’t have a kingdom of self. We either align with God to gain access into His Kingdom through Jesus who is God in flesh to prove our invented gods a lie, OR we don’t align with God through Jesus and we get the outcome preset for that choice.
WE ARE SELF-CENTERED BEINGS.
This is only normalized as we live under the influence of darkness that keeps us distracted by our god-complex so that we don’t notice that there is, in fact,, A REAL LIVING GOD, who loves us, and wants to save us by leading us into repentance of self and sin, so that He can fill us with Himself so that He can work out of us all delusions of self-kingdom.
THERE IS ONLY ONE CHOICE AROUND WHICH OUR EXISTENCE PIVOTS.
We struggle with this notion that we are not it which only proves our god-complex true, WHICH should beg us fall to our knees to pray….
FATHER GOD,
Please open my eyes, heart, ears, and mind to the truth of Yourself. I admit that my self craves a kingdom for myself which is birthed from insecurity-fuelled-ego. I don’t want to be on the side that experiences Your Holy Wrath, so please lead me through Jesus by way of Your Holy Spirit to guide me out of my delusions of self-glory, false religions (incl. atheism), into Your Kingdom by helping me to follow Jesus as He teaches me to die to self, little by little.
Please help me overcome the sins that bind me to chasing dopamine highs as forms of escaping the monster within. Help me to not judge my corrupted humanness, and to come vulnerably to You so that You can help me to unlearn my conditioning and learn who You say that I am.
Create in me a willing heart to overcome my self.
Restore me to a sober-minded sound mind that is focused on You, Your Way, Your Love, Your Desires, Your Justice, and Your Church.
Jesus please be my Lord and Saviour.
Thank You for dying for a sinner like me. Help me become Christ-like.
Holy Spirit convict me when I am wrong and stir up in me the passion to learn God’s Truth and the discipline to walk it out.
